Billed as one of Australia’s top children’s shows, this is no sit-down-and-watch affair. The kids sing, dance and clap about with the Oz Gang through their one hour long adventure down the Yellow Brick Road. Most suitable for ages 2-10 years.

Live action is mixed with on-screen fun, intelligent lighting, colourful costumes and catchy tunes to produce a visual treat.

The excitement starts when Dorothy's house lands in Munchkinland, right on top of the Wicked Witch and crushes her to death.

Join the Munchkin Mayor and get the show going with a happy party song. Do the Macarena with Scarey the Lion (he thinks it's called the Boogy Woogy!). Clap along to Shiney the Tinman's wacky rap and frolic along with Funny Bunny.

And most important, help Tinman, Lion & Dorothy to make sure Shakey the Scarecrow doesn't keep falling asleep on the way to the Emerald City!

"As with all our shows, this one too is highly interactive. Children can look forward to participating in lots of activities with their favorite characters," says Christerine Laul, programme co-ordinator.

Through more than 2800 performances internationally to date, The Wizard of Oz Show continues to thrill people of all ages. The cast were honoured to perform with the last living Munchkins from the 1939 MGM Oz classic in America. Their friend, 80-year-old Flowerpot Munchkin Margaret Pellegrini flew down as a special guest at their season at Sydney’s Seymour Centre.

Wherever they go, children throng to meet the Oz Gang, dressed up like their favourite characters! "We've had dress-ups from little Tinmen and Glindas to bricks from the Yellow Brick Road!" they recall.

Local libraries, councils, even corporate houses theme their programmes around The Wizard of Oz to coincide with the show's visit.

The show is about more than giving kids a good time. It spreads a message of hope and self-esteem to the young. Director Brian Laul says, "Somewhere over the rainbow, you can make your fondest dreams realities if only you dare to believe that you have the power within you to do so".

Audience members are invited to bring along a toy or book to go towards the show's Hospital Toy Appeals.
